Creative Coaching

When you focus your creative vision and process through writing mentoring, you’ll complete your writing project by building productive and resilient habits, and achieving greater clarity for marketing and publication. Storyweaving coaching offers a partnership with your goals and unique gifts at its heart.

Are you ready to commit to your writing?

Are you looking for support for your creative projects, to complete a book, bring your writing to the next level, or recharge your writing practice? Why not connect with someone to walk the path with you for a while, keeping you on the right road towards your creative goals?

Breakthrough Strategies

Storyweaving coaching techniques are breakthrough techniques. We’ll play with character, style, language, and structure on a deep level, and support your regular writing practice with experiments to guide you to your perfect process. You’ll move into the flow of your work, overcome writer’s block, energize your writing process, finish your book, and have the confidence to move your writing into the world.

Get unstuck

Creative coaching helps you “unstick” your creative story and opens a space for increased creativity in your life as a whole! Because my mentoring is based in life coaching training as well as experience as a writer and writing teacher, I take a holistic approach that one client called, “a one-on-one MFA experience!”

I occasionally accept special clients looking for creative life coaching as they move through life transitions or search for paths more aligned with their purpose, passions, and dream projects.

Are you hungry for creative community?

When Covid 19 isolated so many of us, I started a regular Creative Gathering on Zoom to support creatives of all kinds. Now that we can meet in person, I’ve started a creatives support group in my retreat center in Maryland (20 minutes from Capitol Hill near National Harbor). We’ll meet once a month, share our projects and build creative community. Contact me to sign up and find out more!

Note: This is not a therapeutic group! We may talk about our challenges, but our focus is on expanding our creative work. In the process, all participants agree to keep conversations confidential, respect each others’ unique perspectives, work, and beliefs, and together commit to building a positive community. My facilitation is mainly designed to keep the conversation flowing! Deeper support is available through online and in-person workshops, and one-on-one coaching.

“Marcel Proust once said, “let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” That’s Carol Burbank of Storyweaving! Carol is my editor and coach and we spent countless hours while she coached me through the writing process. Carol knows every twist and turn in the story, and she always came up with the right touch, helping me to make this a better book and giving me the space to tell it exactly my way.”
